The art and culture association of kirchehrenbach receives a financial grant of 19,200 euros from the state of freestate’s cultural fund for the creation of a sculpture path on the fube of the walberla mountain. This communicated the two forchheimer landtagsabgeordnete michael hofmann (CSU) and thorsten glauber () on wednesday.
"This is what we decided in the budget committee after the discussion in the committee for science and art", reports constituency deputy michael hofmann. The art project was supposed to start this summer, but was postponed for a year because of the corona pandemic. For hofmann, the art project at the fube of the walberla is a "grandiose idea". Thorsten glauber says: "art and culture must be accessible to all citizens directly on site – especially here in the countryside." He is particularly pleased about the grant for the sculpture path at walberla.
The application deadline for artists has been extended to the beginning of 2021. "We already have more than a dozen promising applications. The condition of the artworks is that they must have a regional reference and a reference to walberla", declares the chairman of the art and culture association, fritz sponsel. The new timetable foresees that in spring 2021 the jury will meet and select ten objects from the applications, which will be placed on the western slope of the walberla for two years.
